art therapy sounds interesting, but what if i’m not good at art?

You don’t need to be “good” at art to benefit from art therapy. Making art in session is about expressing your thoughts and feelings, and can be used as a catalyst for processing. It is not graded, and there is no judgment!

I WANT TO DO VIRTUAL ART THERAPY - WHAT TOOLS/SUPPLIES DO I NEED?

Generally speaking, it’s good to have at least markers, colored pencils, and paper on hand, but we can work with whatever you’ve got! If you need inspiration, or are looking to expand your repertoire, check out the “Shop” section of my website, where some of my favorite materials are listed.

i’m not interested in art therapy, can i opt for traditional counseling only?

You can. I am an LPC in the state of PA, so I am trained as a counselor as well, however I like to use both art therapy and traditional counseling practices in session. I prioritize clients who are open and excited to use art therapeutically, because that is my specialty!

DO YOU WORK WITH KIDS?

Currently, I am not accepting any clients under the age of 21.

WHY isn’t there a contact phone number listed on your site?

I prefer e-mail because I can answer you when available, which might be early in the morning, late at night, or in-between sessions, depending on my schedule. I also check my email obsessively because I’m a Millennial, so my response time tends to be faster by e-mail. If you’d like to schedule a time to talk, feel free to reach out by e-mail and we can set up a time.

do you offer free consultations?

I do offer a free 10-minute phone call if you’d like more information, or to further see if we’d be a good fit.

WhAT INSURANCES DO YOU TAKE?

I accept UPMC, Highmark, United, and Optum commercial plans. I do not accept Medicaid or Medicare. If I am an out of network provider, you can submit your paid invoices to your insurance carrier for partial or full reimbursement (most will pay for at least a portion). My out of pocket rate is $145/50 minute session.
