In this 2-hr group workshop, you will be encouraged to deeply explore your identity and persona through mask making. The first hour will be spent painting/decorating/collaging a blank paper mache mask and creating meaningful imagery to symbolically portray your identity. The group will be encouraged to explore both their outward and inward identity - the persona you show the world, and the more personal, private, and protected identity you may hide from view. In the second hour, members will be encouraged to share their completed mask with the group, and/or process their identity exploration experience. Sharing is optional, not required; members are only encouraged to share at their own discretion.
The cost for this workshop is $45 (BIPOC receive 15% off using code BIPOC15 at checkout) and includes all art supplies. Workshop is led by Julia K. Toal, ATR-BC, LCAT, LPC: a board certified and licensed creative arts therapist and professional counselor. While it is not a therapy group, it is aimed at being therapeutic, revealing, and healing.
